Interview: Amarillo pt. II!
Thanks again to Melissa of Amarillo for participating in my interview sessions of the part II clan of muses; KnightCat and FashionChalet still to come. :-)
-With the economy getting worse and worse, why do you think it doesn’t seem to be hurting bloggers and their fashion choices? I think so many bloggers are thrifters at heart. You have to remember to visit these tiny secondhand stores because nothing can make you happier than finding a $3 dress at Goodwill.
-Your favorite school subject is … ? Art. I’m really excited to take AP Art History next year. I also love my current English class more than life.
-A secret nobody, even your parents, know about you: If I told you, I’d have to kill you. However, very few people actually know about my blog. Only a few of my close friends know it, and only one of them reads it regularly.
-I want to know your 5 favorite songs this minute: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, by Neutral Milk Hotel. Song for a Sleeping Girl, by Devics. Speeding Cars, by Imogen Heap. For the Widows in Paradise, by Sufjan Stevens. Eyes, by Rogue Wave. A few may be repeats from last time, but I’m in desperate need of updating my iTunes.
-Favorite designer and why? My heart can never belong to only one designer. I happen to be head over heels in love with everything Alexander Wang, though I also have a burning passion for Rei Kawakubo. And my most recent obsession would have to be Ann Demeulemeester and Matthew Ames. I feel like they create works of art, not just clothing. I’m constantly surprised with what I see in their shows and they leave my mouth watering.
-If we met right now, what would we talk about? We would probably discuss fashion, but that’s a no brainer. I feel like our conversation would be random but interesting, covering topics like hobos, the Olsens, and ridiculous shoes. I’m sure we could ramble about coffee for a few hours on end too :]
-I like to collect: shoes and rings.
-My favorite thing to do is: dance. I’ve grown to love my fellow dance team girls like family, and dancing with them is truly the most rewarding thing I have ever experienced. Right now we are working on hip hop (I am a terrible sight at this), but jazz will always remain my favorite.
-I work on my blog because: I like to ramble and complain about my life. I must not make much sense to outsiders because of all these random posts I have, but I like to think the pretty pictures make up for the nonsense words. I also feel extremely guilty if I don’t update.
-I want to meet Erika and Cam because: I don’t know anyone who loves fashion like these two. I’m not even sure how we met online, but I feel like talking to both of you is so easy! When we meet in real life, we will definitely make some trouble!
-My favorite page in Influence is: ____ Because: ________ Page 96 to 105, the Lauren Hutton interview. I feel like it wasn’t about fashion or art as much as the other interviews, but I do love her as a person. To be honest, I hadn’t heard of her before this interview, but now I’ve learned so much from her that I consider Miss Hutton to be my hero. I am also in love with MK’s interview (page 84 to 86) and the Bob Colacello section (page 31 to 41).
-Do you have any brothers or sisters? I have a younger brother, who is 7 years old. He is extemely unfashionable, along with the rest of my family. Style must not be genetic, I guess.
-The blogs you visit everyday are: There are way too many! I use Bloglovin to keep track of all of them, and some days I have 100+ posts to catch up on. Yours and Fashion Chalet are at the top of my list, along with Almah, Bones and Stars, Childhood Flames, Dirty Glam, Elenita, Fashion Toast, Gillo Filippa, Garance Dore, Jak & Jil, Karla’s Closet, Knight Cat, Le Flassh, Lulu and your Mom, Milk, Wedge Heel, Newborn Hippie, Sea of Shoes, She Knows, Song of Style, Taghrid, and The New Black. Wow–I have no life.
-I wish I was: Taller. A faster reader. Better at drawing. Not as lonely. Happier.
-I hate: Green Bay, WI–there’s nothing to do here, and it is the most hideous place in the world. Being controlled. Girls at school who look me down head to toe and then glare at me as I walk by–it’s not like I care what you think. Red meat.
-I want: To get a job. Marc Jacobs boots and those coveted Balenciaga wedges. To turn 18. To learn how to drive. To get into Fashion Institute of Technology for college. To go to the fabric store so I can sew some boho dresses for summer.

yay Melissa! :]
I told my cat that he was famous in the blogosphere, and he says he feels very special. Too bad he’s not that photogenic :]
