Interview: Fashion Chalet!

The super cool, and my new muse, Erika of Fashion Chalet, was sweet enough to answer my crazy questions.

-Do you remember first creating your blog? What motivated that? Well, to be honest, I have always wanted a place to display my outfits. I remember I first started in some lesser known fashion forums, until I found My Style Diary and then The Fashion Spot. From there I saw a multitude of members on TFS forums with links to their personal fashion blogs in their signatures. I saw a few, fell in a love, and thus mine was born.

-Dinner with anyone. Who would you pick? Carrie Bradshaw. I feel like I relate to her on so many levels, not only in our shared passion for clothing, but in how much we wanted to fall in love and of course it would also give us a chance to talk about our writing. I’d also do anything to be able to meet Mary Kate Olsen; she’s got to be the coolest girl in the entire world, hands down. I’m intrigued by her dinner parties. I would love to meet her.

-Superhero crush? Superhero icon? Crush: Batman (Christian Bale) Icon: Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter).

-If you could raid any one celeb’s closet, who would you pick? What would you take? Mary Kate Olsen, her shoes, furs, Balenciaga bags and shoes, Givenchy bags and a myriad of rings and bracelets. Carrie Bradshaw’s vintage dresses. Nicole Richie’s jackets, scarves, boots and accessories. Ashley Olsen’s Christian Louboutin collection. There are so many to choose from!!!!!!!

-Which blogger’s closet would you most love to raid? What would you take? Amarillo’s necklaces. Krystal’s shoes, furs and dresses. Kristin’s Balenciaga top and mulit-colored bandage dress. Rumi’s harness booties and vintage red cape. I adore every blogger’s outfits, items and ideas though. Again, a tough one to answer!!!

-Have you ever met any other bloggers before? Not yet.

-You’re famous for replying back to all of your readers. How do you keep up? I seriously do not know. I have this thing where I can’t stop. I feel guilty. Now with taking on a longer work week, it’s getting all the more difficult. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t ready every single one of those comments. I’m usually sipping on coffee and listening to Noah and the Whale while doing so. I’m always smiling when I read them and it’s always fun to come across a really sweet and heartfelt comment or question. I appreciate all of the feedback I receive. I truly do. It’s what motivates me to keep on blogging! And I will be continue to update frequently. That is a promise.

-Favorite drink? Water, constantly. I drink about 500 mL a day, if not more…. I’m also crazily addicted to Odwalla juices and protein shakes. Vanilla and Chocolate, for those of you wondering.

-My ideal meal is: Salad. I chuck in just about every vegetable you can think of, cheese, nuts and croutons. Green onions are my favorite complement and Wishbone’s Italian dressing spritzer tops it off. I may just blog about the perfect salad one day.

-Top 5 songs that make you melt are: Unchained Melody – Righteous Brothers. There isn’t anything else that can top this one……

-Recommend (1- book), (1- film) and (1- song) for me. Book- A Year in Fashion (which was recommended to me by Melissa) – on its way by mail to me, soon, hopefully. Film- June Bug (simply great!) Song- Silent Night - Sarah Brightman (I know that Christmas is already over, sigh, but her voice just gets me every time.)

-What’s your favorite thing to do when your mind isn’t on blogging? Shop. Hahah. Only joking. Um, well I do enjoy cooking. I also love to write. Listen to music. Watch movies. And hoping to take a class on both Modern and Classic Art this fall. I would also like to continue with French classes. I took French all 4 years in high school and I miss it.

-The Super villain you find most appealing? Who? Why? THE JOKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Need I say more????????

-Your biggest dream is: To become a well known fashion Stylist with famous clients or write for a great fashion magazine.

-Favorite store (non-fashion-related) is: IKEA. Great deals and decorative ideas there!!!

-Bets vacation you’ve ever had? A week in Disney World, we stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort for our Honeymoon. Or the time I took a one-week cruise with my family to the Bahamas.

-Style Icon you most admire? I have a lot…. Mary Kate Olsen, Carrie Bradshaw, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Richie, Ashley Olsen, Tallulah Morton, Taylor Warren, Chanel Iman, Natasha Poly and Ali Michael.

-You are a Style chameleon yet always able to nail each look! How do you come up with your outfits? Wow, thank you. :) Well, I usually find myself working around a single piece I really feel like wearing that day- be it shoes, a new ring or even a scarf; and somehow it all sort of comes together.

-Your idea of a dream date would be: Ice skating and then hot chocolate after a romantic dinner and movie. Cheeseball!!!!!!

-On Saturday night I like to: Go out to dinner. Stay in to watch movies, drinking hot chocolate and then laying in bed reading a really good fashion book while listening to my iPod.

-What are your Top 3 favorite “Fashion Chalet” blog outfits from 2008? When I tried out the DIY slashed jean look. Wearing Plaid. And my NYE outfit with the sequined leggings and birdcage heels.

-Quick: You just won $3,000! What do you buy? Are you kidding me? OK. A really goof, non-logo designer bag. Something large, slouchy and sexy. Like a Balenciaga tote. I love the vintage Chanel Mary Kate is always seen toting about as well.

-What do you think of my blog? Ummmm, do you even have to ask? HAHAHA because I pretty much love it!!!!! Keep it up. Keep doing what you’re doing. :)

-Anything else? I want to say a resounding thanks to all of my readers and fans who support me and my blog. Without you, I wouldn’t have anything fun to look forward to; at least not fashion-wise anyway. If I could, I’d kiss and hug you all!!! I mean it. Maybe some day we’ll pass each other in a street somewhere. :)
